💻 What Mac do I need to run MacDecor?

MacDecor requires:

• macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later
• Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) or Intel Mac
• At least 500MB of free storage for theme downloads

🎨 What's included in MacDecor?

MacDecor provides coordinated desktop themes, each including:

• Desktop Wallpapers – High-resolution wallpapers optimized for both iMac (5K) and MacBook displays
• Folder Icon Sets – Matching custom folder icons that complement each wallpaper
• One-Click Application – Easy tools to apply themes instantly

🛍️ How do purchases work?

MacDecor uses Apple's in-app purchase system:

• Theme packs are purchased individually at $7.99 each
• Purchases are tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on other Macs
• All payments are processed securely through Apple
• No subscription required – one-time purchases only

🖼️ How do I apply a wallpaper?

It's simple:

• Open MacDecor and browse available themes
• Click on a theme you own
• Click "Set as Wallpaper"
• The wallpaper will be applied to all your displays

📁 How do folder icons work?

MacDecor makes custom folder icons easy:

• After applying a theme's wallpaper, click "Apply Folder Icons"
• Choose which folders you want to customize (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc.)
• MacDecor applies the matching icons automatically
• You'll need to grant file system access permission (we guide you through this)

🔄 Can I restore previous purchases?

Yes! If you've purchased themes on another Mac or reinstalled the app:

• Click the "Restore Purchases" button in MacDecor
• Sign in with the same Apple ID you used for purchases
• All your themes will be restored automatically

🎯 Do wallpapers fit all screen sizes?

Absolutely! Each theme includes optimized wallpapers for:

• iMac 24" & 27" – 4480×2520 resolution
• MacBook Pro & Air – 2560×1664 resolution
• MacDecor automatically selects the right version for your display

⚠️ Folder icons aren't applying. What should I do?

Check these common solutions:

• Grant Permissions: Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Files and Folders, and enable access for MacDecor
• Finder Restart: Sometimes you need to restart Finder (Option+Right-click Finder icon in Dock → Relaunch)
• Clear Icon Cache: Run this in Terminal: sudo rm -rf /Library/Caches/com.apple.iconservices.store then restart your Mac

🔒 I'm getting a security warning. Is MacDecor safe?

Yes! MacDecor is:

• Available exclusively through the Mac App Store
• Notarized and approved by Apple
• Sandboxed for your security
• Privacy-first – we don't collect any personal data

If you see a security warning, it's likely because the app needs file system access to apply folder icons. This is normal and required for the app to function.

💾 Where are themes stored?

All theme files are stored locally on your Mac at:

~/Library/Application Support/MacDecor/Themes/

Nothing is uploaded to the cloud unless you enable iCloud Drive for the app's data (optional).

💰 Can I get a refund?

MacDecor offers decorative digital content (wallpapers and icons) that is instantly accessible upon purchase. Due to the nature of digital artwork:

• All sales are final – Once purchased, themes are immediately available for use and cannot be returned
• No refunds available – This is standard for digital decorative products, similar to purchasing art or design assets
• Try before you buy – We recommend reviewing theme previews carefully before purchasing
